A moment of sharing with friends

Dear Friends:

I have prepared an art retrospective for you. I made it an orphan page on my web site, meaning I didn't link to it from the rest of the site yet, but I may soon.

I've been practicing fine art drawing since I was a teenager, and I used my own mirror image to practice with for so many years. I've now scanned in all the self portraits I could find, prepared the images for the web, and presented them in a Picasa slide show linked in from my own web art gallery site.

I'm not sure why NOW was the time to do this project, but I felt its time had come.

How wonderful that you could even begin to draw a self-portrait.  Since I've never seen you, it's hard to compare…but it looks darn good to me!

Oh, wait a minute.  Guess I've seen your photo.  It's more interesting what features and emotions a self-portrait brings up.

This particular portrait was done when I was 19. By the way, the image here on this blog post isn't the retrospective, it's a teaser. I gathered 15 images for the slide show, which I put on the page I linked to above.

I tried to link the slide show right here, but it kept going wrong. I gave up and put the plain link on this page.
