Boiling blood and Mercury retrograde

Posted on Sep 25th, 2008 by J~E~S~S : Living on Purpose J~E~S~S
Thanks to Meenakshi for pointing out this web site and the fact that Mercury has gone into Retrograde. I had asked her, "Retro-what?" because I don't normally follow astrology. http://www.astrologycom.com/mercret.html

Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray or awry.

It is therefore not wise to make important decisions while Mercury is retrograde, since it is very likely that these decisions will be clouded by misinformation, poor communication and careless thinking. Mercury is all about mental clarity and the power of the mind, so when Mercury is retrograde these intellectual characteristics tend to be less acute than usual, as the critical faculties are dimmed. Make sure you pay attention to the small print!

No wonder I'm not blogging these days! Yesterday was the day the retrograde started, and I began looking for my purse in the morning because I needed to accompany an older stepson to court. Both my personal cell phone and the business cell phone, and my ID were in that purse, and it had gone missing! I went to court without it and it turned out I never needed my ID anyway.

I had taken a dance class the night before, and that must be where my purse was! I called the studio at 10 am, and left a message. Their web site said classes don't start until 4:30. Geez, my life is locked in that studio! My business cell phone, wallet, checkbook, etc. I called again at 4 pm and she answered, "yes, I have your purse, and I tried to call you last night after I looked you up in the white pages but nobody answered." (yeah, that would be because nobody answers the phone at home because it's a fax line.) There were 15 missed calls on the business cell that was trapped in my purse, but most of those were me calling myself hoping against hope that I would find my purse under the couch. I couldn't check messages because the cell phone company suspended us....embarrassing.

So I think maybe I better start paying attention to astrology. I can blame it all on the stars.

Later that night, husband and I entered a conversation that ended up being an argument over issues long buried. That rarely happens with us these days. I had thought our arguing days were over! "But everybody has blood," husband says, "and sometimes our blood boils."

Phew! At least with the blame on the stars we can suffer the consequences in peace ;)  A deeper aspect of this retrograde is:

“Remembering that nothing turns out as expected during a Mercury retrograde, and that things take strange twists and turns and there are curious returns of people, ideas, and experiences in new forms that resemble old forms, open to useful but overlooked angles of viewing things, learn and teach through a sense of perspective of how past and present relate in unusual ways, and be alert to roundabout or indirect communications that show things going on below the surface.”

Oh, is it retrograde now again?  Hmmm, well that obviously explains it.  smiling….I have had a couple of more challenging days, too.  Thanks, Jessica & Meenakshi for sharing this.  Hope it turns around soon for you, Ms. Jessica.

Thank you Meenakshi for the deeper understanding of what may happen in this phase. I indeed have had insights of how the past and present relate in unusual ways. Check this out, it happened yesterday:
“…There on the side of the garage was my box of elementary school mementos. Easy as pie, I pulled out six personalized books from when I was in primary school.

The first one was a fill in the blank book, like this: “My name is ____(Jessica). But you can call me __________(Jessie). Just don't ever call me ______(Fred). ”

I was nine years old when I filled in those answers. I got married at 26 to a man named Fredy.

This next one is funny, too: “Know why I'm so special? Because nobody else looks, thinks or _________(eats) exactly like ME!”

I'm a lifelong vegetarian and notoriously picky eater. It cracked me up to read that.”

Centria: Joy, joy, thanks for stopping by. You've felt “challenged” too? It's in the stars!

Meenakshi: My 11 year old had a look at this book today. He pointed out that I had written “Jessica” in the “Don't ever call me_____” section and then erased it. Then I wrote “Fred” over the erased “Jessica”.
I don't think I liked the name “Fred” at all, but I married one.

That is such a cool story, Jessica re the “Fred” link from childhood.  My childhood story didn't quite work out so well.  the Ouija board said I would marry someone named “Ben”.  Well the first letter was right anyway.  It turned out to be Barry.  I kept looking for a Ben, but the Ouija board was wrong….so far anyway!

Is Mercury retrograde right now? That definitely explains a lot…I've got bills that have errors in them, plans that aren't coming together and weird communication issues with some of my students. Yup, it's a retrograde phase.  Thanks for letting me know!  :)

Jessica & Meenakshi,

Our blood has been simmering too. Being close to someone that has the same characteristics, not to mention we share the same sign, is a interesting challenge. Thanks for the links, I think I'll pay a little bit more attention to the signs from now on.

That thing about “Fred” is Kosmic..
;-)

Centria: Oh, you had an adventurous childhood, what with the ouija board play and all! I never did play with one of those. It at least had the first letter right!

Meenakshi: I saw the link on Centria's featured member thread. Thanks for keeping me in the flow!

Morningstar: I've heard from other people that they are experiencing communication errors and phone problems, too. I've never been into astrology but now I don't doubt those who say it's predictions are usually right-on.

FastDart: I'm Gemini, too! And about “Fred”, I keep on finding these tiny little Kosmic moments…they are like carbonation bubbles in a Perrier bottle.
